The Hong Kong Psychological Counselling Center is a private institution offering professional counselling services in Hong Kong. Arrangement for individual and family counselling can be made within 7 days and all information collected will be kept confidential. Our Mission It is inevitable that we will face emotional issues, stresses and anxiety, or marital, parenting and family problems in our daily life. Some of us would want to seek professional assistance when dealing with these issues. However, it is not that easy to get professional counselling services in Hong Kong. It is either very expensive or you will have to wait for a long time. In view of the above, our Center adopts a flexible fee schedule aiming at allowing our potential clients to receive professional assistance at an affordable price as soon as possible (within 7 days). Since our establishment, our Center has become very popular. Attracted by our mission, the number of people using our services continues to increase. Currently, we have more than ten psychological therapists, including experienced counsellors, clinical psychologists and art therapist. We will continue to expand our services so as to meet the different needs of our potential clients and ensure that professional counselling services will be available within 7 days. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted,” Bible.

Dr. Wilfred Wong Senior Counsellor, Marriage and Family therapist (Language: Cantonese, Mandarin, English) Dr. Wong is the founder and executive director of the Hong Kong Psychological Counselling Center. He is also an experienced psychological counsellor. Through offering counselling services, Dr. Wong intends to become the client’s company and help him/her to understand himself/herself and his/her surroundings better. In the course of counselling, Dr. Wong will explore with the client resources available to him/her both internally and externally and let him/her see that there are different alternatives. The ultimate aim is to help the client to become free and be able to enjoy life. Dr. Wong’s various professional qualifications include Honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from Breyer State University, California, U.S., Master’s degree in Counselling from the University of South Australia, Certificate in Child-centred Play Therapy, Certificate in Play Therapy for Pre-school Children, Certificate in Fast and Intensive Treatment of Depression, Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Certificate in Marriage and Intimate Relationship Counselling and Certificate in Bowen Family Systems Therapy, etc. Dr. Wong has intensive experience in counselling. In addition to providing individual and marriage counselling as a private practice counsellor, Dr. Wong was volunteer counsellor at the Breakthrough Counselling Center from 2002 to 2008. Dr. Wong was presented with the Outstanding Volunteer Counsellor award in 2005 by the organization. Dr. Wong also became volunteer counsellor at the Society of Rehabilitation and Crime Prevention, Hong Kong in the same year. The Society aims at rehabilitating discharged prisoners and reintegrating them into society. Dr. Wong received a Commendation and an award for his outstanding participation in the Society’s work in 2006. In light of Dr. Wong’s excellent performance as a volunteer, he was appointed board member of The Friends Of The Society Of Rehabilitation And Crime Prevention, Hong Kong responsible for the development of volunteer work of the Society in Hong Kong. This is the first time ever a volunteer is appointed board member of the Society. Dr. Wong specialises in the treatment of emotional problems, addictions and marriage and family therapy.
Dr. Benny Lam Senior Clinical Psychologist (Language: Cantonese, English) Dr. Lam has been in the USA for 16 years, worked as a clinical psychologist, addiction counselor, treatment director, family therapist in different settings, such as: mental health hospital, prison and private agency. Dr. Benny Lam have more than 11 years' experience in counseling, leadership, organization, management, supervisory, teaching and, last but not least, development. He graduated in 1998 and earned his MA degree in psychology counseling. He earned his Psy.D degree in Addiction Study and Family Counseling in July of 2005. Dr. Lam is certified as an Advanced Certification Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ACADC) and has been licensed since 2001 (LADAC). He is an International Certify Advanced Alcohol and Drug counselor (ICAADC). He is certified as a Prepare Enrich Family Counselor (CPEFC) and seminar director who can train and certify counselors. Dr. Lam is also a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) and a fellow member of Hong Kong Professional Counseling Association. Dr. Lam has worked in a mental health hospital as a clinical psychologist in Springfield, MO. and has been working as a clinical psychologist in some private counseling clinics. Dr. Lam endorses a holistic approach to health and specializes in cognitive-behavioral, emotionally focused and solution-oriented therapy.
Mr Edward
Kwong Senior Clinical Psychologist (Language: Cantonese, English) Mr Kwong is an experienced clinical psychologist with over 30 years of clinical experience. Mr Kwong has a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of London, UK. Currently, he is Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong, a Chartered Clinical Psychologist in the UK and a Registered Clinical Psychologist in Hong Kong. Mr Kwong has extensive clinical experience and has been senior clinical psychologist, department head, consultant and visiting lecturer at major hospitals and universities in the UK and Hong Kong. In addition to the treatment of clinical psychological problems in general, Mr Kwong is also experienced in assisting those with special needs, including the physically disabled persons and discharged prisoners. Mr Kwong specialises in cases of neurosis such as anxiety, phobia, panic and obsessive-compulsive. He uses brief therapy, employing home-work assignment and learning packages to help the clients to get to the crux of his/her problem and find a solution within a short period of time.
Mr. Jackie Chan B.A. (Psy.), M.C. (Coun. Psy.), Reg. Psychol. (H.K.), M.H.K.P.C.A., G.M.H.K.Ps.S. Counselling Psychologist (Language: Cantonese, Mandarin, English, Fujian) Jackie is a Hong Kong Registered Psychologist, Registered Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor. He has a Master of Counselling Degree in Counselling Psychology from Arizona State University and a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University Hawaii. He is currently holding the Associate Membership of American Psychological Association; Professional Membership of American Counselling Association; Graduate Membership of Hong Kong Psychological Society; Membership of Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association, and Professional Membership of Asian Professional Counselling Association (H.K.). For years Jackie has been working as a counselling psychologist in many local and overseas mental health agencies. His clinical work duties include providing children, teenagers, young adults, couples and families with counselling, consultation, psychotherapy, psychological assessments, training, seminar and workshop, and conducting clinical research. Besides counselling and psychotherapy, teaching and clinical supervision are also Jackie’s favorite professional activities. He is currently holding the academic appointments of lecturer and clinical supervisor in Hong Kong Baptist University, the City University of Hong Kong, the Open University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Shue Yan University.
Mr Arthur Ng Clinical psychologist (Language: Cantonese, English)
Mr Ng has a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University, USA with a focus on marriage and family therapy. He is also a registered member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapist in the USA. Mr Ng has been responsible for adolescent counselling at a church and psychological counselling at a high school. Mr Ng has also taken up the position of psychotherapist at Pacific Clinics, USA.
Mr Ng is familiar with adolescent issues and specialises in individual counselling and adolescent treatment. Mrs Retta Sing Psychological Counsellor (Language: Cantonese, Mandarin) Mrs Sing has a Master's degree in Counselling from the University of New England, Australia, Certificate in Play Therapy, Certificate in Fast and Intensive Treatment of Depression, Certificate in Marriage and Intimate Relationship Counselling, Certificate in Family Systems Theory and Therapy and Certificate in Psychodrama。
Mrs Sing has several years of experience in counselling. In addition to providing play therapy to children, she also provide individual and marriage counselling. Mrs Sing is presently the Internship Supervisor for the Department of Counselling and Psychology students and previously the student counsellor at the Hong Kong Shue Yan University. She has been working as a voluntary counsellor at the YMCA Cheung Sha Wan Centre from 2002 to 2006, Aberdeen Kai Fong Welfare Centre for The Youth Work Experience and Training Scheme and The Employment Programme for the Middle-aged from 2000 to 2003 and Yan Ping Industrial and Commercial Association Lee Ng Shui Oi Memorial School for the New Immigrate Children Counselling Group from 2001 to 2003.
Mrs Sing specialises in play therapy and adolescent and marriage counselling.
Ms Dawn Li Psychological counsellor Registered social worker (Language: Cantonese)
Ms Li has a Master's degree in Social Work from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, MBTI I & II Accredited Administrator, TJTA Accredited Administrator, NLP Practitioner Certificate, Certificate in Bowen Family Systems Therapy and Certificate in Grief Counselling.
Ms Li has many years' experience in social work and counselling. She has provided services to couples, elderly, adolescents and disabled persons. In addition to individual and family counselling service, Ms Li also provides services in the form of group therapy. Ms Li has participated in volunteer work organized by different social and voluntary organization, such as providing supervision in Mentor Programme for adolescent.
Ms Li specializes in couple counselling, personality test and the counselling of persons with emotional and psychological difficulties such as depression, anxiety or stress.
Mrs Jessica
Suen Senior Psychological Counsellor (Language: Cantonese) Mrs Suen has a Master's degree in Counselling from the University of Hong Kong, Certificate in Play Therapy, Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Certificate in Bowen Family Systems Therapy and Certificate in Systemic Family Therapy: The Ackerrman Approach. Mrs Suen has years of experience in providing counselling services at a Crisis Management Center. She is adept at handling emotional problems, helping those who are sexually abused and training teachers and parents to deal with the emotions of adolescents. Mrs Suen is also experienced in the counselling of children and adolescents as a private practitioner.
Mrs Suen specialises in handling emotional issues, relationship problems and the counselling of children and adolescents.
Ms Ivy Fung PgD Art Th., S.R.A.Th.
Art therapist (Language: Cantonese, English)
Ivy is
a State Registered Art Therapist (UK)
practicing in Hong Kong. Ivy obtained her
postgraduate diploma in Art Therapy at the
University of Hertfordshire in UK in 1999.
Since then, she has been working in local
hospitals and rehabilitation settings, with
diverse clientele, including people with
mental health problems and their families,
drug abusers, cancer survivors and others.
Ivy was the Vice President of the Hong Kong
Association of Art Therapists (2002-2008),
endeavoring to promote Art Therapy and Art
Facilitation in the region. Ivy has also
collaborated with a local university in an
innovative research project of virtual image
therapy, which was awarded a gold medal at
the International Exhibition of Inventions,
New Techniques and Products (2007) in
Geneva.
Ivy
has now focused more on working with those
who suffered from mental health problems and
emotional distress; She aims at supporting
people to work through their difficulties
and re-discover themselves by retrieving
innate creativity and thus achieving a life
of integrity.
Our Center also has several guest therapists not listed above. Appointments with them can be made according to the needs of the clients.

In order to allow more people to get professional help by means of psychological counselling, our charges are determined according to the income level of our client. Individual, marital or family counselling charges Monthly income of client Charge per session (50 minutes) More than HK$25,000 HK$800 HK$25,000 or less HK$500 (Client should provide income proof) (For individual counselling, monthly income refers to the monthly income of the individual receiving counselling.
